My name is Marie Harriet-Louise and I am dedicated. A lot of the other so-called "mothers" in my neighborhood do not understand the value of teaching morals to children. It seems as if they are much more content with watching trashy tv and slurping on YellowTail. Its really quite appalling.
I am NOT going to let my youngest, Anthony, fall into the traps of sin and corruption - not like the other children in his class or the playgrounds that we attend. I teach Anthony the power of purity and test him with Biblical passages and riddles. This is building his morality muscle so that when he DOES come across a dirty magazine, a secular song, or a bag full of used needles, he makes the right choice. (I wish I could say that ALL children would make the right choice, but again...who are their role models? What are THEIR "mothers" teaching them?)
One of the morality games that we play is called "Pressure." I present Anthony with a difficult concept and pressure him until he cracks. For example, I will sit him down, look him in the eye, and tell him that he must deny his savior. I tell him that he will not get any dessert for a week if he doesn't deny, deny, deny. I tell him that he will be grounded if he doesn't deny, deny, deny. And guess what, 9 out of 10 times, Anthony stays strong and reaffirms his faith by saying - NO! I believe in Jesus! And he takes his punishment like a well-behaved spaniel. That is morality! Can you say the same about your kids?
Amen.
