Now its time for a check in with marriage counselor Drake Angel and "Living Bliss."
Hello, and welcome, and good morning. As I start with every show, as I am legally obligated to do, I am not a doctor. I am just a man who cares about people and their relations. I have an Associates Degree in welding and small engine mechanics from a community college, but that doesn't mean I cannot have a piercing scope into the inner workings of marriage and relationships.
Remember, in order to be a great lover and friend to your spouse, you first must be a great lover and friend to yourself. You must be in a stable state of mind before communicating within a lover language with your partner. There are thousands upon thousands of love and lover languages. People who love to give. People who love to receive. People who love to be denied. People who love to be teased. Hey, that rhymes. Some people love to be treated like an animal and eat off the ground, just like me.
How do you let your eternal partner know what your love and lover languages are? Its a difficult balance between exposing too much, too soon, and never being able to achieve a satisfying release of love. What I suggest to most people is, be open to your feelings and be open to feedback. After all, you cannot spell relationship without "real" or "ship" or "lotion" or "hip." You need all of those elements in order to have a successful marriage. Just get it out there in the open. I don't care if you yell it from the rooftops or grab her by the head and shake it back and forth like a pumpkin, just get your feelings out there. Write it in a letter, sing it in a song, interpretive dance, bake a loaf of bread --JUST COMMUNICATE in some way- saying that you love each other. Even if you aren't sure if you even mean it or not.
Kevin from Salt Lake City - You're on Living Bliss - use your beautiful mouth and lips to make words directed at me.
Kevin- Hi, I really like some of the commercials that I have been hearing tonight during your show. I can't get that one jingle about car insurance out of my head. "Crash, boom, smash - call McCards." I almost want to get into an accident, just so I can call!
Kevin, I am not sure if I am suppose to interpret what your saying as some sort of dream analysis or what....so I will just do that anyway. You need to reach out to McCards, not just because they are a wonderful sponsor for our show, but because it feels like you two are very distant...and if you don't communicate effectively, you may CRASH into something bigger. And by the way, mention this show and my name - Drake Angel - when you call McCards and automatically receive a free auto or RV insurance estimate.
Dillon from the great state of Austin, you are on Living Bliss - my ears, and more importantly, my heart is open to you, please fill both with your questions.
Dillon- Drake, thank you for taking the time to take my loving question. Here it is, I love giving love; but hate receiving love. I want to be treated like garbage and belittled. I want people to disrespect me to my core. Is that lover language too difficult to give and receive?
Dillon, I do not like that question. And for whatever reason, I do not like your voice and will not be responding to you. Please do not waste our time on Living Bliss anymore!
That is all the time we have for today's show. Thank you everyone, except Dillon from Austin, to listening and participating and loving. Remember, your love and lover language is the most important thing in our lives - don't mess it up.
